The Titanic In Pop Culture Blogathon Has Arrived

It has come! Who’s ready to do this? It’s kinda hard to know how to start this, to be honest. When I thought up this blogathon, I didn’t anticipate the fine line that we’d have to walk between being excited to pay tribute to the Titanic’s impact on pop culture and being respectful of the fact that the sinking was a terrible, momentous event.

We are, however, up to the challenge, because we are all thoughtful, intrepid bloggers, and welcome to the first day of what I hope is going to be a great blogathon. And you all know the drill. I will post everyone’s entries on a daily update post.

And of course, if anyone would like to join, there are LOTS of topics left, so feel free to jump in! All the rules and stuff can be found here.

Okeydokey, let’s get going!

Maddy from Classic Film and TV Corner starts us off with a look at the interiors of the Titanic, as well as her favorite film.

Gill from Realweegiemidget Reviews also gets us started with her review of the 1979 film, S.O.S. Titanic.

Quiggy from The Midnite Drive-In looks at the Titanic episode of the In Search of… series. Who remembers this show?

Ruth from Silver Screenings brings her thoughts on the 1953 film, Titanic, starring the wonderful Barbara Stanwyck, of course.

Shawn from The Everyday Cinephile tells us about the first Titanic film ever, Saved From the Titanic, starring an actual survivor of the sinking.

Brian from Films From Beyond the Time Barrier goes for a double-header with reviews of the Titanic episodes from One Step Beyond and Night Gallery.

Sally from 18 CInema Lane gives us her thoughts on the 2012 TV movie, Saving the Titanic.

All right, everyone, depending on when you read this, see you tomorrow for Day Two…
