Here ye, hear ye: The Seventh So Bad It’s Good Blogathon will soon be upon us. The Queen of the Bad Movie has spoken, and it will be so. 😉
For those who might not be familiar with this yearly soiree, this is when the blogosphere talks about bad movies, hilariously bad movies, and guilty pleasures. We’ve had some great times over the past six years, and no doubt 2025 will be no different.
All right, let’s do this! It’s time for…
The Rules
- If anyone would like to join, please comment with your name, your choice of topic and the name of your blog, podcast, YouTube channel, or what have you. You can also contact me via Twitter and Instagram (both @TakingUpRoom), my e-mail (rebeccadeniston@gmail.com) or my Contact Page.
- The blogathon will take place from February 21 until February 23, 2025. Posts can be sent to me on or around those days, whether by leaving a comment or by any of the avenues mentioned above.
- Since this is such a big topic, duplicates are forbidden unless a film is part of a listicle. Movies can be from any era and any genre.
- Participants are limited to three posts.
- New material only, please.
- Need some ideas? Lists can be found here and here, and links to past blogathons can be found here.
- Grab a banner and advertise the blogathon!

Thanks, Gill, yeah, I’m feeling a little proud too. And definitely–thanks for joining! 🙂

Every time I can… Still think you should have a film version now and a TV version later in the year..

That’s not a bad idea. We may have to work that in somehow.

Maybe for year 10? Not long to go…

That’s true–just wait a couple years. This definitely has possibilities. 🙂

Hi, Rebecca! I’m glad this event is back.
I want to write about The Wizard of Oz… from 1925. It has everything from Oliver Hardy to a duck vomiting.
Best,

Hi Rebecca! There are so many to choose from, but this year I’d like to do The Wild, Wild Planet (1966). – Films From Beyond

OK. I’m probably setting myself up, since I’ve never actually seen it. But it makes a lot of those “so bad it’s good” lists, and I’m a glutton for punishment.
I’ll take a stab at Battlefield Earth

Please count me in. I’ll take on Lightyear (2022), Pixar’s head-scratching attempt at a Buzz Lightyear origin story.

Hello again, Rebecca! On the Spot was a fun experience, so RR and I would like to contribute to this blogathon if you’ll have us. Are the posts limited to movies or are episodes of television series within scope? Thanks,
Bud (Jeff Arnold’s West)

Hi, Bud. Movies are the usual thing, but sure, we could add TV shows to this. There are some that would definitely work. Hope you can join. 🙂

Hi Rebecca,
I have a huge, huge problem in that while I was scrolling through my own blog to get re-acquainted, I noticed I did The Truth About Charlie for your Blogathon before. So, I’ll have to find something else. I’ll keep you posted.
Have a lovely evening

Yeah, I just saw them. It’s weird–there weren’t any alerts or anything. I don’t get it. At least they weren’t in spam or something. 🙂

Very weird because they also didn’t appear in our chats or anything. Doesn’t matter. The main thing is that it worked.
Have a wonderful Sunday

So happy this blogathon came back! I will, once again, join the blogathon, but I am unsure at the moment which movie I’ll review. But I do know it will be either Kraven the Hunter (2024), Tarzan in Manhattan (1989), or Hercules in New York (1970).

Thought I sent you this already but don’t see it here: is “Showgirls” available? I have a fun story of seeing an advance peek at the Cannes Film Festival the year before it was released and interviewed Verhoeven and Elizabeth Berkley!
