Announcing the It’s In the Name of the Title Blogathon

Hello, friends, and welcome to another blogathon announcement, the first of three coming up this week.

Brief hat tip to Safiya Nygaard aside, the lovely Gill of Realweegiemidget Reviews and I are launching the It’s In the Name Of the Title Blogathon!

So what does that mean? Essentially this:

  • Movies with names in the title (i.e., The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, Driving Miss Daisy, Turner and Hooch)
  • Biopics
  • Actors or actresses with first and last names that sound like first names (i.e., Cary Grant, Lily James, James Stewart)

Our blogathon is going to happen right smack dab in the middle of May, which is going to be a busy month for blogathons, but the more, the merrier, right? And since Gill and I live in Finland and California, respectively, we’re the blogathon that never sleeps. Now on to…

The Rules
  1. The blogathon will take place from May 15th until May 17th. Posts can be sent to Gill and I on or around those days, and just to make sure everyone’s on the same page, please send your links to both of us.
  2. If anyone is interested in joining, please leave your topic of choice and blog name here, on my Contact page, on Gill’s announcement post, or you can contact either or both of us via Bluesky (@TakingUpRoom and @realweegiemidget), X or Instagram (@TakingUpRoom).
  3. Films or topics can be of any era or any genre, and international names are fine. New material only, please.
  4. Participants are limited to two posts apiece, and since it’s such a big topic, duplicates are verboten.
  5. Nothing derogatory will be accepted.
  6. Grab a banner and advertise the blogathon!

  1. One that is cheesy and one that is classic. In two separate posts because a) they don’t segue with each other in the least and b) the one doesn’t deserve to be in the same post with the other just on principles…

Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla (the cheesy one, obviously) and Rebecca (because no one else picked it yet, and I haven’t reviewed it before)

  2. Hi, I have a review for 1950’s “Harriet Craig” ready to go, that I’d hold for this blogathon.

Let me know if it works for you.
