After Stars Hollow

Wallpapers.com

It’s hard to believe that Gilmore Girls premiered twenty-five years ago. Maybe it’s because the show hasn’t dated all that much, probably because most of the references aren’t linked to the turn of the twenty-first century, plus great writing doesn’t age.

Of course, everyone wonders what the cast has been up to since the show wrapped, and even since A Day In the Life wrapped. Who doesn’t, right? So, I thought I’d do a little digging and see what pops up. Here’s a gallery of the regular and recurring cast members and what they’re doing at the time of this writing.

Daniel Palladino and Amy Sherman-Palladino

TV Line

When thinking of the Palladinos’ post-Gilmore careers, it’s easy to jump right to Bunheads and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but their rebound series was the extremely short-lived The Return of Jezebel James. Their latest outing is Etoile, which I keep promising to review for Substack but haven’t gotten around to yet.

Chad Michael Murray

The Chad Michael Murray

Mr. Murray is a busy guy, and his roles following Gilmore Girls have been nothing if not full of variety. In addition to starring in various Christmas movies (read about one of them here), he’s also played Ted Bundy. His latest role is as Max Rocklin in Joy To the World for Disney+ and Hulu.

Teal Redmann

IMDb

Teal Redmann’s last film credit was in the obscure 2022 horror film, The Harbinger. It’s not known what she’s doing nowadays and her private life is a mystery.

Shelly Cole

Today

Shelly’s last film credit was in 2010. Since then, she’s become an acting coach and has directed an independent film.

Michael Winters

UP Entertainment

Like Teal Redmann, the man who was Taylor Doose is now a mystery, as his last credit was the 2019 Ben Medina film, ECCO. However, he does give interviews and seems to enjoy talking about his time on Gilmore Girls.

Liz Torres

Looper

Liz Torres has continued to work in TV since A Year In the Life, but hasn’t been seen much on the screen as of 2025. Her latest acting credit is 2023’s Lopez Vs. Lopez.

Todd Lowe

AOL

While Lowe apparently continues to act, his current projects are unknown and his last film credit was in 2023. He’s still very involved in the Stars Hollow universe, though, having filmed “Gilmore the Merrier” TV spots for UP TV and making personal appearances at such events as the Smells Like Snow Coffee Festival in Akron, Ohio last year.

Keiko Agena

The Hollywood Reporter

Keiko Agena has racked up numerous credits since Gilmore Girls, often playing doctors. Her latest credit is the 2025 blackjack drama, Surrender.

Yanic Truesdale

People

Mostly working in TV, Yanic Truesdale has kept going without a break. Besides playing a key role in the Palladinos’ latest project, Etoile, Truesdale is also Chef Louis on Disney Jr.’s Ariel.

Jared Padalecki

IMDb

Next to his turn as Dean Forrester, Jared Padalecki is best known as Sam Winchester on the long-running CW show, Supernatural. His latest film credits are Cordell Walker on the CW’s Walker, and three episodes as firefighter Camden Casey on Fire Country for Paramount+.

Milo Ventimiglia

Entertainment Weekly

Of course, Ventimiglia’s best-known acting credit since Gilmore Girls is as Jack Pearson on This Is Us, but he’s also appeared on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He’s even lent his voice to a video game, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.  Ventimiglia has also recently becoome a husband to Jarah Mariano, and it’s not lost on a lot of people that his wife’s maiden name matches his character’s last name on Gilmore Girls.

Emily Kuroda

Showbiz CheatSheet

In the years since Gilmore Girls, Emily Kuroda has kept busy doing voice work and guest spots on various TV shows and shorts, her latest being as the title character in a short called Gloria. Like her former costar Milo Ventimiglia, Kuroda has also lent her voice to a video game, only in Kuroda’s case the game was Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Matt Czuchry

People

Czuchry’s credits since A Year In the Life haven’t been numerous, but he’s clearly not going for quantity. He’s had recurring roles on The Resident and American Horror Story, plus one of his other big credits, The Good Wife finished up in 2016, the year A Year In the Life released.

Liza Weil

IMDb

In the years following A Year In the Life, Weil has done both TV shows and films, her best known credit being Carolyn Keen on three episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Her latest credit is Katherine Russo on The Cleaning Lady.

David Sutcliffe

The List

David Sutcliffe announced his retirement from acting in 2019. While he’s grateful for the people he’s worked with and the experiences he’s had, Sutcliffe felt for a long time that his heart wasn’t in the acting business. He now works in psychotherapy and appears to be thriving.

Scott Patterson

Showbiz Cheatsheet

In addition to his film and TV work (read my review of one of his movies here), Scott Patterson also hosts a podcast, I Am All In and seems to enjoy leaning into the Luke Danes persona. He makes appearances at Gilmore Girls events and frequently interviews his former Stars Hollow costars on his podcast.

Kelly Bishop

The Daily Beast

Kelly Bishop hasn’t strayed too far from the Palladino universe since A Year In the Life, either. In addition to her other TV credits, she has enjoyed recurring roles on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Etoile.

Melissa McCarthy

Hola!

Melissa has done lots of movies since A Day In the Life, and I have to say, most of them have been pretty dumb, the Pop-Tart one and The Starling notwithstanding. At least she’s busy, though.

Alexis Bledel

IMDb

Most of Alexis’s time has been spent as Emily Malek in The Handmaid’s Tale, but she’s also done a few episodes of a podcast called The Coldest Case.

Lauren Graham

People

Lauren Graham has not only been starring in movies and TV shows, including the adorable Best Christmas Pageant Ever and the short-lived and unfortunate series, The Z-Suite, but she’s been writing books (read about a couple of them here).

Gonna take a little break until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Thanks for reading, all, have a good holiday if you’re celebrating, and see you in eight days…

The complete series of Gilmore Girls is available on DVD as a set or as individual seasons 123456, and 7.
