Which Screen Burger Would You Eat?

In-N-Out

Who doesn’t like a good burger? I had an In-N-Out Double Double today and it was fabulous (Cue knowing nods from any Californians). Anyway, I kept thinking about all the times burgers appear on TV and in movies, and decided to compile a list of some of them and a couple of near-burgers. Some of them I would definitely eat. Others I would avoid. Still others I would simply look at with curiosity and wonder what the attraction is.

So yeah, here we go. Which of these burgers would you like to eat? And there’s a certain trend going on among these titles.

Burnt

What is it with the Brits and Burger King? I don’t get it. Maybe Whoppers taste better in England.

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey

When we go to the movies, the thing we all really want is to watch Margot Robbie and Colin Firth chomping on Whoppers and fries.

Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!

When Rosalie and Tad go to the Frasier’s Bottom Diner, I had to cringe because whoever is making the burgers in this scene does one of the big “Don’ts” when making burgers: pushing down on the patties after flipping them. Wonder who got to eat those burgers.

The Terminal

We’re back at Burger King again, only this time it’s a pleasure, because poor Viktor hasn’t gotten to eat much besides ketchup and mustard sandwiches. Seeing him dig into a Double Whopper meal after going hungry almost makes Whoppers tempting.

The Nanny Diaries

Annie isn’t used to French restaurants, and when she goes to lunch with Mrs. X, can only sputter out that she’d like to order a burger. Mrs. X covers for her and orders a chanteaubriand, but it’s one of the scenes that shows Annie isn’t entirely comfortable with her new role.

That Thing You Do!

One of the perks of being a shop owner’s son are the long, leisurely lunch breaks…oh, wait. Guy’s lunch of a fast food burger looks pretty good but he’s not allowed to finish it until he waits on customers.

The Founder

Hey, we’re not at Burger King.  Obviously. This movie is fun, especially when we consider that we can still get McDonald’s original hamburgers and cheeseburgers almost eighty years after the McDonald brothers founded the famous Golden Arches. Makes picking movie snacks very easy.

Gilmore Girls

Lorelai and Rory ate a lot of burgers, and Luke was a master at crafting them. He didn’t seem to take a lot of chances with the toppings, but the burgers looked awfully good. I also like the “Scene In A Mall” episode when Emily eats a Big Mac with a knife and fork.

How I Met Your Mother (“The Best Burger In New York”)

This is one of my favorite episodes of the series. Marshall’s about to start a new job, and all he wants to do is find a certain burger place he ate at when he and Ted first moved to Manhattan. Marshall and Lily eat a lot of burgers. Barney sings about Goliath National Bank. And oh yeah, the burgers look fantastic. Again, not terribly creative, but still fantastic.

So which burger would you eat? I’d probably go with the one on How I Met Your Mother, although the McDonald’s one is probably more realistic. Accessibility and all that stuff. All right, thanks for reading, and I hope to see you on Tuesday for another post…
