It’s back, it’s badder than ever, and it needs you to make it shine in all its cringeworthy glory. Yes, Round Two of the So Bad It’s Good Blogathon is going to take place from February 21st until February 23rd in the year of our Lord, 2020.
If you missed last year, here’s the premise of the blogathon: Review the worst movie or movies you’ve ever seen. These monstrosities seem to fall into three categories:
- Guilty pleasures
- Hilariously bad movies
- Unhilariously bad movies
Obviously, this is highly subjective, so any popular movies you can’t stand are fair game, too.
Here are the other rules as well, and they’re pretty much the same as last year:
- Posts can be sent to me on or around February 21nd through the 23th via the Comment section, Twitter, Instagram (both @TakingUpRoom), or e-mailed to rebeccadeniston@gmail.com. Only new material, please.
- Since this is such a big topic, duplicates will be verboten, although the same movie can be approached from different angles. For instance, one person can do a straight review of a movie while another includes the same film as part of a list.
- Movies can be from any era or of any genre, and can be TV movies, features, indies, or B-movies. Lists of bad movies are fine. Anyone who is stuck for an idea can find a whole lineup of stinkers here. Streaming services, YouTube or Amazon Prime also have tons of choices, and anything from Asylum is a safe bet. So are John Cena films.
- Grab a banner and advertise the blogathon!

Put me down for the Nicolas Cage version of LEFT BEHIND, because a blogathon like this is incomplete without Nicolas Cage.

LOL, definitely! I’m not a Cage fan, either. 🙂

Yeah, that was my response, too. And oh, it’s terrible–you’re gonna totally flinch. Or die laughing. 🙂

A few came to mind immediately – I am leaning toward Napoleon Dynamite.

OK, that’s cool–I can put you down for it.

1) I love the banner with William Bendix from the Babe Ruth Story…easily one of the worst attempts at portraying a baseball player in cinematic history…although Anthony Perkins in Fear Strikes Out is pretty close
2) I’d like to contribute a piece on an alleged comedy from 1986 called Hollywood Air Force. It’s deliciously bad..

1. Thanks, J-Dub–yeah, that’s what I’ve heard. It shouldn’t have been so terrible, but it was.
2, Sure, definitely! Thanks for joining.

How do I possibly do a follow up to last year’s reviews of “Reefer Madness”, “Glen or Glenda?” and “Howard the Duck”? The answer. Go to the Razzies website and cull some good choices that were nominated for Razzies. In 1985 Sylvester Stallone won worst actor and his movies that year were in the running for worst movies. Put me down for “Rambo: First Blood Part II” and “Rocky IV.” Both as one post. I’ll probably add two more later.

Oooh, I like that idea. Thanks for joining, Quiggy. 🙂

You got me down for The Razzies. If that’s just for brevity, OK, but I’m only focusing on the two aforementioned films. Also I am adding a second entry, one that no one else seems to like; “Batman and Robin”.
And a shameless plug. You and anyone else are invited to the BeyondStar Trek Blogathon, hosted by me and Hamlette’s Solloquy.

From what movie is that last banner? It looks awfully familiar. I’m still looking for an entry for my third post.

Oh, it’s from “Queen of Outer Space.” Zsa Zsa Gabor’s in it. I tried watching it once, but I got so bored I turned it off.

Hi Rebecca, can you add me with The Evil (1978)? from Gill at Realweegiemidget Reviews (and definitely keen on being your co-host!)

Sure, thanks for joining, Gill! And yeah, we’ll have to come up with something. I’ve got a few ideas…maybe something on Betty Grable? 🙂

TBH, not really my thing as usually look for a more retro film… this sounds like one for someone who does more classics. Thanks though.. and keep those ideas coming…

Will just see if there is some random biopic from a certain film company with Kirsten Dunst or another equally random blonde actress…

Hi Rebecca!
I would love to join your blogathon with the following two films: STUNT ROCK (1978) and DREAM A LITTLE DREAM (1989).
After watching the trailer for “Titanic II”, I think you are a very brave soul for choosing to write about it! 😀

Hello Rebecca! I’m glad you’re bringing this blogathon back! For 2020’s event, I’m going to review a Hallmark movie that seems to be very polarizing among the audience: ‘Three Wise Women’. It’s from 2010 and, apparently, it’s a Christmas movie.

Hi Rebecca! May I switch my choice to a Hallmark movie called ‘The Cabin’? I was looking through my DVR recently and I discovered that my recording of ‘Three Wise Women’ disappeared. I have no idea what happened, but I’m guessing it was a technical issue.

Argh, that’s a bummer. Sure, I can switch your movie–no problem. 🙂

Can I do Disney’s The Lone Ranger at my blog Voyages Extraordinaires (http://voyagesextraordinaires.blogspot.com/)? It’s less of a “so bad it’s good” and more of me defending the honour of an unfairly maligned film, though 😉

Hi Rebecca. I hope I’m not too late to register? I seen this announcement months ago, but I didn’t know whether or not I would be able to take part, because I’ve been really busy writing my book proposal and researching. However, I’m just about finished the proposal, and I should be able to join in. If it’s okay, I’d like to take “Julie” ( 1956 )?
